Honestly it was sick, I think that I like it more than their newer ones but I only listened to them once each, but yeah I don’t really get the whole “it’s the best metal record ever” hype
It’s really tight but I can think of a few dissodeath bands that do it better, Gorguts for sure being chief among them. Which I know is probably a normie take as far as all this goes but there’s a reason Luc is so revered.
I’ll give it a few more listens but I think im just content with kinda liking Ulcerate but it’s just not completely clicking for me and im not really sure why. Everything about it is good, it doesn’t even have the weird vocals issue that this band runs into with me. There’s just something about it that’s stopping me from loving them.

Yeah I mean it definitely takes more than one listen to unpack what's happening on it. Gorguts is better, not because of what they've done with disso shit, just for dm in general. There are a few disso bands that might be able to hold a candle to eif with their best work (ad nauseam, artificial brain) but by itself eif pretty easily clears all dissodeath that isn't brain or ad nauseam (I don't really consider gorguts dissodeath by modern definitions) and imo is the best/most rewarding album in the entire dm genre, along with this album

nah im sure i would like it if i cared enough about it, i'm fine with bands copying one another but i kinda found my niche in death metal and i wanna stick there mostly. i'll check out a bit more dissodeath that people talk about alot, i should explore more outside of gorguts and gigan.
