Backbone is still one of the most crushing riffs I've ever jammed. This whole album is massive riffage. m/

That end riff after 'beat your feet on the ground' is just... glorious. In The Wilderness doesn't get enough love I feel; although I appreciate the outro's long, it works really well imho. And the fade out rules.

Incessantly percussive, minimally melodic, interminably droning and heavy as cast iron balls--this album is serviceable at best. It's metal; yay? I'm listening to the album for the first time in years as I type this on my cellphone and thinking, "Yeah, I'll revisit this in another two years amd see if it's magically improved over time." My money is on "No."
For the record, the vocalist sounds like Bjorn "Speed" Strid doing an impression of himself, stripped entirely of clean vocal talent. Hating on Soilwork doesn't do a damn thing to change the fact.

Flesh has better highlights (Art of Dying, Toxic Garbage, Oroborus) but I prefer this overall.
