Dat fuzz on Ghost... AND NOW SHE KNOWS SHE'LL NEVER BE A-FRAYYYYY-AYYY-AYYYYED. Tears when I saw Jeff solo play that, and there will be tears July 25th when I see the full band at MPP.

I dunno I find this album to be transcendent, it just has something about it where it can bring you to places like no other album can. While listening to this, all of the crazy imagery comes to life and feels real, there's no other album out there that sends me on a journey quite like it. It's absorb, infectious, dark and completely unique in that sense. If we're going to talk straight instrumental composition or vocal talent I can't back this album up really, there is just something about I can't describe with words that many people have found in it other than myself.

That's what's so transcendental about it, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan.
I like this album because I think its full of great fucking songs with great fucking lyrics that are
endlessly evocative and emotionally resonant. Faux-transcendental pseudo-intellectual bullshit and
pretentious musical wankery can get to fuck, I just this think this is a great fucking album.
tell that to the people like funearl, comatorium, and demi who need this to be something its not to validate their opinion on it

"It doesn't meander into passages of chocolate pudding acid psychedelia and it doesn't crack the skies and break into celestial space rock riffs, it just indie folks hard and it doesn't need to do anything else to be the album you all love and enjoy so much"
i mean, there are plenty of bands that never do this that are definitely psychedelic

Nope. Must contain chocolate pudding to be psychadelic.

no shit, sorry if my blatant hyperbole wasn't clear enough for you lol
regardless this really isn't one of them

on avery island is definitely the psychier (maybe better?) of the two

i've never heard it but maybe i will check it out.
it always blows my mind how sputnik can get so fap happy about an artist and then reject the rest of their discog. it
seems like every year there's this one artist that booms in the sput community and everyone here listens and 5's it and
then 2 years later when their follow up comes out nobody even listens to it. same goes with back catalogues.
SORNE is a goot example. Also this having 3000 ratings and Avery Isl having less than 1000 is another.

sometimes what happens with me is i'll like the first album i hear from a band so much that whenever i attempt to check out something else from them, i just get frustrated and go back to the original album. i can usually break out of it eventually but it can be a challenge sometimes
|
| |
at least you actually listen instead of letting your interest in the artist crash and burn with the rest of the hype from the community

I think the title track is kinda psych. I went back and listened to this and its pretty fuckin awesome when the lead singer actually has some melody but on some of these tracks his voice sounds terrible regardless of how good the lyrics are
|
| |
well i mean of course i argue like my opinions are facts but the truth of the matter is that psychedelic is just as subjective of a term as 'heavy' so yeah, opinions and such
for me this isn't at all but for some it may be even tho i still call bullshit
