They kinda did on Gore for me but it wasn't anything drastic. Just a minor miss-step in an otherwhise stellar discography

Gore really isn't as bad as everyone makes it out tbh. Albeit, it did have less input from Stephen, but songs like Acid Hologram and Geometric Headdress were really experimental and outside of the box for that band, and those songs came out super awesome.

Acid Hologram is painfully basic and not interesting
Geometric Headdress is alright, but really Deftones by the numbers at this point.
The worst have to be Pittura Infamante and Xenon, the first is just lame, guitars are corny, Chino sounds uninspired as shit. Xenon is even worse, the riffs sound straight up horrible
It’s only Doomed User, H/W, Gore, Phantom Bride and Rubicon that make this album worth something, the rest of the songs are the weakest they’ve ever done
