"This probably is the best mixed DM album I've heard"

now that I've realised this wasn't some sort of comment on how they subtly blended progressive elements into DM, whilst retaining almost full-on DMisms masterfully (yes I'm an idiot), then I have to agree with that statement

Get Marston to re-do the entire Ulcerate discog so my puny old-man ears can tolerate their (actually v good) music again.

damn I'm slacking on promoting this, thought I already did...

Yeah the digital/cd version of shrines could definitely use a better mix

Is Enemies of Compassion underrated? Probably one of my faves here now

The best compliment I can award this is that it barely feels ‘proggy’ at all such is the seamless nature of the compositions. Except the Battle of Chamdo of course (which I like on its own merits - not just as a palate cleanser, but is the only detractor in that sense).

This does some prog-leaning shit but is essentially post-OSDM Gorguts x post-metal ft. a couple of oddities… and what’s not to love about that formula?

Indietronica is legit terminology

It’s ‘Electronica’ that should be banned from existence

Listened to this for the first time in full on a roadtrip down to Cincinnati the other day. This this is absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Ulcerate invited me in to this style of music in the last couple years, then Ad Nauseam, and now I am wrapping my head around this bad boy.
