standard deftones songwriting is usually good enough, but it's just not enough when your putting out your 8th album

Lyrics have never been an issue for me, but then again I don't pay attention to the lyrics much in Deftones. This one has some cool descriptors to paint a big picture, I like 'em.

yeah this has it's lows. the lyrics are so bad to me on romantic dreams, gauze, graphic nature.
i think gore lyrics are more weak all around tho. at least this has leathers, rosemary and entombed

Yeah, but Gore has t/t , Acid Hologram, Geometric Headdres and L(Mirl) which are good lyrically
Also I really like Romantic Dreams, never got why some people don't like it.

I like Geometric's lyrics especially. Gore's lyrics are pretty cool cause rather than painting a more colorful and detailed picture like this one, it paint mainly shapes and solid colors. Cool vibes with the lyrics

And yeah the start of L(MIRL) is weak but when the part about "in a new realm" starts it's pretty good.
