tbh I thought the same thing about the genre before I realized what it really is, and ever since then it's become one of my favorite genres. I'm guessing you probably think shit like BMTH or Attack Attack or other shitty scene bands, since for some reason that's what 95% of people seem to think, but it's really not like that at all. I'd recommend at least checking out some of it before writing off the entire genre, cause you might actually be surprised by what you hear. Sed Non Satiata and Off Minor are good ones to check out if you're new to the genre I guess.
