wasn't that basically Diamond Eyes?

I don’t want another Diamond Eyes, too one-dimensional

Yeah Diamond Eyes can be a little too one-dimensional at times but it's one of the most perfect-sounding albums ever, songs just couldn't have been made any better

Would prefer an atmospheric album, Koi no Yokan was just the right mixture imo

I think Koi's style got a bit stale by now, they've been using this atmospheric side of theirs for 4 albums straight. I'd like them to go either full experimental, heavy like on ATF or dark and sexy like on White Pony

I only have 3 albums of them: White Pony, Koi No Yokan and this one.

I think Koi No Yokan is perfect for december, I couldn't listen to it in spring or summer because of the atmosphere in it.

It's hard to say which is my favourite of those 3. I like the post-rock elements on this one ( for example in U,U,D,D,L,R,L,R,A,B,Select,Start), I want more of that, and some really experimental songs would be great.

True. The Post-Rock influence should be explored further

The post-rock has been sufficiently explored on Team Sleep and Palms. What I really want is Adrenaline 2.0 but I'm fine with an organic progression from Gore.

I think the heavy riffs on here are much more creative than the djent worship on the recent stuff. And the experimental aspects of this one are probably the most interesting and the atmosphere is incredible. I want more SNW lol

It’s no secret that Stephen Carpenter’s riffs on recent Deftones albums are pretty djent-inspired

Gore only had a couple of tracks like that though so maybe he’s easing up on it

He's been using that style since like 2003. Kind of comes with the 7-string territory.

Pretty sure he’s been using an 8-string for a while now

Meshuggah has been an influence on these guys for awhile. It's most evident on Diamond Eyes.

The s/t and SNW don’t lean on it in an obvious way at all. Diamond Eyes is the worst about and Koi No Yokan is too. It’s not really a bad thing but it’s there
