well their other albums aren't as guilty of it as this, it's that n the songwriting here doesn't impress me as much as the others



lullabies for eg has such fantastic songwriting that every track still sounds fresh after 100+ listens. can't say the same about some songs here

fascinating evolution these guys have - they've never made a bad album yet their sound has changed quite a bit

^ Biggest change to their sound—exit of Nick Oliveri, I reckon. Reasons for his departure aside, his presence gave them a real edge that’s been missing since, despite the overall success of this album in particular.

@flash absolutely, one of the most consistent and fun discogs out there

I think the biggest change has got to be between Era to this, given whatever the hell happened to Homme in between (he claims most of the stories of his near-death were exaggerated somehow)
