where they are similar is in pretension, they are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of artistic vision

Kid Cudi is deluded in thinking he's a musical genius but has no talent

Kanye West is deluded in thinking he's a musical genius but he admittedly has talent.

Guitarded didn't realise you've got a 30% slice of hip hop pie there

I must have rated 100 hip hop albums but sput has decided I haven't got an ounce of bounce

compared to cudi he certainly is a genius at least

lou reed said when yeezus came out, shortly before passing away:

"No one's near doing what Kanye's doing, it's not even on the same planet"

and i agree, hes on a whole other level than anybody in the genre right now, he is the leader, whether you call that person a genius or not, i mean thats a subjective thing isnt it

I know what's going on in the hip hop world in terms of currently acclaimed artists and such, but I don't actually listen to any of it. Even though most of it isn't for me I can respect the artists.

I think, and I say this with 100% sincerity, Lulu is going to be reappraised by future generations.

lou probably would have loved death grips too but i think their influence in / with kanye in terms of pushing the envelope and leading the way is pretty similar, although the style of music is a bit different

I don't like Lulu much but it has all the markings of an album people are gonna call 'misunderstood' in 20 years time.

I can totally imagine Lulu as a "misunderstood masterpiece" given 20+ years time.
