Nnnnnnaaaah. This is probably my least favorite of theirs in their career before Heritage, but no way are the past three albums better than this. This has Lotus Eater, argument over.

yea my bad
i dig this but i think their records since have been more cohesive; this has always struck me as an 'experimental' halfway point at which mikael had probably already wanted to write a record like heritage. there's a lot of great material here but i don't think it's one of the best
that said, i think records like sorceress have a very particular audience and it just happens to suit me

That's actually a fair point and I totally get it. Like I said (here? Maybe? Too lazy to scroll back) Ghost Reveries is the last album that I absolutely love by them so I can't defend this too hard. I just think their newer stuff is just 'OK' but it is definitely more consistent and less confused than this.
