i wonder how true that is

They started selling really well ever since GR, so it's hardly selling out but wow. Curious as to how much SW is worth now
|
| |
He's doing pretty much the opposite of selling out at the moment, a lot of his fans want more of the same old Opeth style and he's not giving it to them.

yeah i don't put much stock in artists "selling out". i couldn't care less. i saw some people saying they sold out when they signed to roadrunner but come on
|

I hear a lot of people say a band "sells out" when they make their music far more accessible to appeal to a wider audience, but that simply isn't the case with Opeth

My "sell out" comment was sarcastic btw, just putting that out there

No [3]. It's close though

PC has a lot more to offer, but doesn't always get it right. Still better than this

This also has a lot of strong moments but Pale Communion just does everything so much better. It's close though
|
| |
Need to listen to PC more but I prefer the style of this album. They're similar in the sense that they're both proggy but this is more loose and free sounding.
|
| |
The only thing I prefer on this to PC is the vocals, or more the lack of awkwardly strained vocals
