this is definitely their best for me, even with tdag and deja being classics. this one just feels so much more colorful yet also bleak and depressing than the others

It's sad that people think that listen to Brand New's music takes a toll on their conscience. It's not as if their lyrics promote sexual misdeeds that Lacey was guilty of in real life. Their music's themes of depression, existentialism, personal struggle, etc. are universal and still have a strong emotional impact because of the talent the band faced. One man being a bad person doesn't change that, and it doesn't make anyone a bad person for listening to quality music.

agreed, but did you have to bring that up again? we actually had a page where it was only passively mentioned in a couple comments. i hardly come into this thread because its all anyone talks about anymore, im bored of it. its the same old arguments page after page.

Lit Me Up is such a chilling opener. Might even be better than Sowing Season actually.

Putting all of the cyclic discussions aside for a moment: what was the contribution to songwriting of other members of the band? Honestly, I have always thought that the narrative voice was Jesse's voice, the persona and JL were one and the same, but I don't know if that's justified in any way

why do people like this
