Yeah man, unreal...
"The violent goat of reason 🐐🐐🐐"
Indeed, may end up 5ing it after the next spin because it's my fav Messhuggah and it deserves it.
PS: Album rules so hard man. Every track gets me pumped. Not a single mid track in here.

Clockworks. That is all.
Ford loses it over Ivory Tower but honestly I think that's one of the weaker tracks here

Never understood the love for this album. It's like a mental breakdown from a friend who has gone completely emotionally cold. I hate how it makes me feel. There are some memorable tracks but this thing just makes me feel empty. 'Shugg was never a very emotional band, but I feel like they always find pockets of... something. Solace? Warmth? This feels AI generated. It's so single-minded in what it's doing. Probably bottom of their discography for me

Interesting, I feel like the fact that they recorded this live gives it a more organic feel actually - even in Born In Dissonance which is their single you can hear the imperfections in Jens vocals, which are usually more mechanized on albums like Koloss (which I also adore)

Agree, Luca. This is the warmest sounding album they've done in years simply because it was recorded live. Haake's bass drum hits like a brick and you can hear the feedback coming out of the amps. There's even a shitload of bass fuzz just bleeding through. I think it is a very different-sounding Meshuggah album than what they had done before or since, honestly.
I guess you either taste the flavor in the cilantro or you just taste toothpaste. I dunno.
