Ironic, since the concept is about a man finding eternal life so he can control aging.

Fig is an underrated food. Really good in salads, on pizza, etc.

Hop on that fig jam though with some buttered toast, maybe a bit of peanut butter if that stirs the loins.

@metalrain the concept is badass... the execution, in my opinion, was lacking. I understand it was a thrash album, but when every song is the same key, similar riff, and same tempo it loses its urgency.

IMO the album is actually very unique and each song is too. Each track has its own personality and place in the story. The arrangements within given song perfectly tell the concept and express ISO-9's emotions. The performances are also revolutionary, as thrash is given a new way of thinking about it that not only works but remains fun as fuck.

I don't see how this is "new". It's thrash haha, it sounds like thrash. The only revolutionary part was the chorus at the end of "Charging the Void". That part really pumped me up for the rest of the album... and it disappointed :/ Is it a bad album? I don't think so, but I think's been hyped a little bit past ripe.

Well, to start off, it is one of the few thrash concept albums. It's much more philosophical than the genre normally is, as well as more ambitious. Secondly, the members incorporated elements from other genres to give the album a unique texture. For instance, many chords are very jazzy but used in an incredibly original way. The drumming also borrows some elements from said genre. And let's not forget the Pink Floyd-y psychedelic elements scattered throughout the album, as well as the bluesy solo on Collapse. Finally, it is an honest effort. It's not bland and washed up like most modern thrash out there. Vektor really put themselves into this record and managed to stand out and leave behind the thick cloud of generic riffs of modern metal bands.

I couldn't call this revolutionary, but I can pretty much agree to it being a genre classic due to how gigantically ambitious it is and how well it's done. I can't really think of a Thrash album larger in scope, whether that is your cup of tea or not is another matter.
