Yeah it's not the greatest live (even though I thought it was fine). Heritage is an album you put on Vinyl while home alone drinking a nice glass of red wine or strong beer.

Seen them 3 times, the PC tour show was the best as they played one track from every album.

Godhead’s Lament and April Ethereal being highlights.

I've seen them 3 times as well. One for Heritage, one for PC and one special show at the Sydney Opera House. The highlights from that show were Demon of the Fall, The Face of Melinda and Mikael playing the intro of 'Drag Ropes' haha

Both those tracks are cool live, yeah.

I’ll be seeing them again this year but at a festival, so they’ll only get to play like 4-5 songs haha.

for someone who only owned (but really loved) Ghost Reveries, Blackwater Park, Damnation, and Morningrise, that was a nightmare set xD

Hmm yeah. Saw them some times too (maybe 5 or so?), and they weren't at their best during the Heritage tour, agreed.

Mikael was always always always really funny though, the Patterns II thing must have been on purpose!

Mikael always likes to joke around and mess with the crowd, but that is ultimate troll

It’s basically a non-DM set which I can imagine would’ve pissed quite a few people off.

Fair Judgement is one of my fave Opeth tracks, though.

Yeah, I remember my first Opeth show which was for Heritage. Lots of people were restless and talking during the Heritage songs. Then as soon as they played their heavier stuff, everyone was more into it, moshing and all.

I would love to see them live again actually. It's been some time.

EDIT: Oh wait, last May, so not even a year... Haha!

Last time I saw them was Feb 2017, so would be nice to see them this year. Maybe a last Sorceress show or to promote their next album, depending on how soon it's released.

that's what I remember, but I'm clearly still salty 8 years later so who knows.

I was supposed to see them in 2011 with Enslaved and Katatonia (literally 3 of my top 15-20 bands of all time) and my ride bailed. Still sick as fuck over that 8 years later also lol.
