Is that just a blanket statement or a comment on my wall of text? If it's the later, I don't know where I said that.

"USA pay for germanys defense? No they don't." Yes, they do, and they have been since after WWII through NATO, which the US funds itself virtually.
The point of calling something a 'military industrial complex' is to convey that you can't simply 'cut' it, there are powerful special interests that profit from our foreign policy that don't allow that to happen, and supporting either a democrat or a republican is doing nothing but making this worse. Im not saying im for the war machine, im saying the people you support are wolves in sheeps clothing, people like Obama who campaign on ending wars then increase military spending.
The population of Germany is 80 million, and their population is substantially younger than the US, the welfare states don't compare.
You can't just break everything down to a debt-to-gdp ratio. The US has a much weaker currency, more capital, and various international obligations that germany isn't involved in.
Using taxes for unconstitutional means, IE federal education, is extortion, yeah.
"why even have a state" there really is next to no point but yeah anarchy is a funny thing to people who think libertarianism is extreme.
"ride on the subway, when you use a road or call the fire department etc. Why is it suddenly not okay to ask the society to contribute some part of their money to a system of education, that doesn't bar the entry behind a huge paywall."
because fire departments and subways are local. You pay county taxes. Thats not the same thing as paying for someone's education 3000 miles away from you in the name of some vague obligation to 'society'.
To be clear, im not against the idea of tax funded education per se. I am against federally funded education money, because 1) its not authorized by the constitution (it could be with an amendment), 2) candidates like Barry Sanders are demagogues for saying its practical to implement this into the US' status quo while changing virtually nothing else (token military cuts like Obama did isn't near enough).
you should probably shoutbox me if you wanna respond chucks butthurt

i agree ed it's annoying when people come in onto a discussion and make it known that they've importantly taken the back seat with all the smugness in the world, like just fuck off do you have to advertise your intellectual superiority by being meta and pissing around with assclown self-gratifying statements
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0 | Sound Off
is it not the grandiose un-related discussions that show off smugness and intellectual superiority
i don't super mind lambs/hil either but i think even he'd agree that he spends most of his time on here trying to show off some sort of superiority in his views, or at least come off as being on the winning side of any debate
my only qualm with this was it happens in every single kendrick thread and it dominates the discussion, taking away what the site/thread is supposed to be about - the music
if it stays related to the music that's fine, and as i conceded, maybe kendrick's music spawns debate, which does make sense to some extent given the subject matter of his music
but i pointed out the community forum, where that type of discussion is meant to take place as to keep the focus of the review site on the music

the reason we were talking about this is someone said Kendrick is going to endorse Bernie Sanders
and also, people complain when I do talk about this album, so whats the point.
Maybe we should talk about how Kendrick is about to be jealous of Jayceon Taylor again after the Documentary 2 comes out
