Agreed on both fronts! Midnight Mass really blindsided me with the direction it took and that ending was powerful as hell. I love Flanagan's stuff all around though. Blind bought his first flick Absentia when it came out and that one blew me away also.
Exorcist III might very well be the best horror sequel also. Thinking back on good sequels in the genre and there's very few that are coming close to it tbh.
