Album finishes so strongly.
I Appear Missing and the t/t are 2 of their best songs.

"The opener on this is great"
actually it's my least fav here
|
| |
Worst here is an auto-tussle between Fairweather and Tail, but the opener's no highlight

Anymore it's kinda hard for me to pick favorites outside of I Appear Missing. Super consistent album but IAM still stands out as the clear highlight

I Appear Missing is probably the best track they’ve ever done tbh
The song is outstanding overall but then that little drum fill into the whammy solo with the sick little bass fills going on is perfection

Something like this...
I Appear Missing
Like Clockwork
Kalopsia
The Vampyre of Time and Memory
I Sat By The Ocean
My God is the Sun
Smooth Sailing
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
If I Had a Tail
Fairweather Friends
Ranking this makes me almost certain this can’t be a 5. Just a thought.

Bad, no. Slightly underwhelming? Maybe.

No bad track, but I would put My God Is The Sun last if I had to choose

Yeah, My God Is The Sun is an easy last place for me
|
| |
Was a great track when first released as a single, really got me hyped.
|
| |
no God Is The Sun slander plz, that song is awesome. love the vintage tone mixed with Lullabies-era rockout

My God is the Sun is the track that ties this in with old desert rock vibes from tracks like Go With The Flow after Era Vulgaris pretty much eliminated that sound and became all robotic, definitely got me hyped for this when I first heard it and then I heard I Appear Missing and had my mind blown

i've spent the last years listening to classic records and to almost no contemporary bands. i'd probably rate this as the best rock record of the 2010s. any rec's for even better albums? i had stopped believing in contemporary music for the most part, but then i realized i barely listened to any so it's probably my lack of experience lol

kyuss

huh all this time I was never aware that Oliveri and Lanegan were on the album as background vocalists

Kalopsia has been quietly sneaking up as one of my fav tracks on the album in the years since it's come out
love how it sounds like the chorus is tearing through the fabric of the verses

"huh all this time I was never aware that Oliveri and Lanegan were on the album as background vocalists"
I still can't make them out tbh
