This album is so good it makes you cry with emotion. To achieve such an emotional output through dissonant and complex music like this speaks miles about this band's genius. GOAT
Also let's not forget about the concept of the lyrics. Love Luc's approach to non-violence and the Tibetan culture here

What I like about this album is that it doesn't take twenty listens to get into it, unlike many other prog death metal albums. A couple of seconds after you press play, you already get a glimpse of its genius.

Yeah, that opening stop-start off-kilter riff to Le Toit Du Monde basically lets you know the spanking you're in for. Absconders always did it for me, you really feel the oppression of the Tibetan people in that song.

Am i misremembering this, or did they release Forgotten Arrows as a single/pre-release song? If so, that's got to be the best single release ever

How on God's green earth could the best Gorguts only be a 4.5? Like, I respect your opinion, but that seems low.

Ok so I jammed Obscura again, and it fucking ruled - was an easier listen than I remember (I remember it being really difficult to sit through an hour plus of that)
That being said, now I have to rejam this and Erosion because I just realized that it's been a number of years since I've listened to those as well lol
And yeah, Gorguts as a band is a 5

Erosion is incredible. Honestly depending on the day, any of Erosion, Obscura, Wisdom or Colored Sands could be my favorite
