Love love love me some brain chemistry-altering substances but yeah weed or acid or whatever isn't some magical thing that will make you like a album that you dislike when you're sober and yeah most music sounds incredible on the drug that makes staring at your own hands for 2 hours one of the most interesting activities possible

That said tho there are def a few albums that have gone from like a light 3.5 to a strong 4.5 for me after one inebriated listening sesh and didn't go back down when I relistened sober afterwards. Sometimes you just need a little perspective shift to appreciate what makes an album special

Listening to music faded (green, psychedelics) can just feel nicer than without, and that's basically all that I'd ever say about that. Yeah, you're not going to just magically "get" something that you wouldn't have liked before, but it definitely gives you a more intimate perspective that you wouldn't have otherwise had. I'll never forget dropping acid when I was 18, listening to Close to the Edge with a great set of headphones, and physically feeling Chris Squire's bass as I was experiencing ego-death. That experience made me appreciate that album in a way that I never would have otherwise, and you certainly can't put that shit into words. You become "one" with the art, and some premium ganja can give you a similar feeling too. To each their own though :D
