This is way better than Damanation. Damnation sucks.

This album honestly had potential to be my one of my favourite Opeth albums. Everything's there in terms of the kind of adventure I wanted to hear, just a shame almost half the songs aren't very good or are forgettable. The other half is top tier Opeth.

Those are the good ones! Seriously some of my favourite Opeth moments are among those songs.

Coil really does play a big part in setting this album's unique (at least within Opeth's discog) and unusual atmosphere.

I still think Burden is just as good as those 4 tracks, but Hex is rather underwhelming as a closer and Porcelain Heart is rather eh.

Can't stand Burden, it's easily my least favourite.

Axe's girlfriend, as it has already been mentioned. Coil is a magnifiscent track and it's nice to see Mike explaining how all the chords are major chords, but it sounds a bit evil and eriee.



The funky part in the Lotus Eater is superb. Hessian Peel's bass intro and guitar is superb. Burden's blueasy approach is superb. But, there are also some songs in here not on the same level with the others..
