Jam it again Ryus, I'm certainly planning to jam Gorguts' discography again soon.

Obscura fucking rules and was my favorite until this came out, but tbh these days its just TOO weird and TOO long for me to listen to all the way through all that much

I find that after the title track, the weirdness wears off a little and it's just a highly emotional, deep listen that I discover something new in every time I hear it. I also would be surprised if Obscura was longer than this, although I honestly don't know. I just recall most the songs on this are pretty lengthy. This is an incredible album though.

Fair point, actually I haven't jammed Obscura in many years now that I'm thinking about it

I'm gonna listen to it front to back right now and see if my opinion changed at all

Yeah man, do it. Just stick some headphones on, close your eyes and really just let yourself become immersed in it. That's my general frame of mind whenever I listen to Obscura, I can't do it whilst doing something else or whilst my mind is pre-occupied or stimulated.

Like, obviously it's still a highly unconventional and challenging listen, but the title track is basically the peak of weirdness. From there on out its slightly easier.

"idk if i agree the t/t is the peak weirdness. absconders would take that one for me. but the t/t is def the most crushing on here" I'm referring to the title track on Obscura, if you tracked with the conversation : )
