" I like to call American Primitivism the real American classical music instead of jazz."

I have never heard people say that about jazz before. Also the real american classical music is Blues so you are wrong : )

Damn Drifter, I'll never understand how you can respond with such grace to a comeback like that. Fucking scandalous.

"It's less a big brain thing and more a switching your brain off and killing stuff mindlessly. Think I'm going for Soulsborne, but not sure which one..."
If Soulsborne counts as just killing stuff mindlessly I guess a lot of things do then, lol. Play... Idk, Warioware? You don't kill stuff but it is pretty "mindless"... Maybe some Castlevania after Rondo of Blood, those could be a nice option too and you kill things... The first God of War... Idk about others, maybe games like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta in the easiest difficulty but those are not very fun to play that way.

It's on the Wikipedia page for jazz. Most likely because it is perceived as "more academic" than other styles. And idk, I see blues on the folk side of things rather than the classical/academic one.

I do like that about him. But, to be fair, my comeback wasn't great, very predictable.

Well I wouldn't call american primitivism academic given that it doesn't have it's own little Berklee.

I'd say blues music is classical in the way that it was the first style of music to define america and influence everything after.

Jazz got Berklee after it started to be considered "academic" though. The term is kind of meaningless to me though, since all music can be studied academically. But oh well, all terms for "classical music" are silly in one way or another. And I like to call American Primitivism "American classical music" because of what you previously mentioned, it is classical music with influence from folk American music.

Yup classical music is only bested by World Music in terms of dumbest genre name.

Than djent? idk. Shoegaze hints at the style and personality of the people who made it. Pretty interesting if you ask me.

Looking for the dumbness genre name is endless. People make up pointless genres all the time for things that barely add anything new (EDM + Trap + House sub -sub genres)

The essential point with world music is that it is widely accepted and used by some musicologists, despite it being ignorant to separate the rest of the world's tradition with the west.
