You're telling me Nirvana wasn't radio friendly? If you mean for this album than you kind of have a point, but still this album was decently received.

Nirvana were a pop band but they did everything their way without compromise and what the tunes are about resonates on a level that puddle of mudd could never replicate in the course of their rip off. They weren't real.

Like it or lump it it's a massive difference

Yeah. All Apologies was pretty accessible even for first time listeners, along with Heart Shaped Box. Nirvana's sound was very well received, which is strange because the lyrics seem to harsh for most people to accept at the time. Not that radio listeners pay much attention to lyrics...

Kurt said that a lot of lyrics were just a load of nonsense that he wrote while he was drunk, so the radio probably didn't care

If Pumped Up Kicks can go under the radio because of an "upbeat tempo", I guess Nirvana's songs can slide by the soccer moms.

Nirvana's sound was very well received and the fact that their songs were always on the radio does not make them look radio-friendly. Their efforts were just rewarded.

Strangely enough a band called Unit Shifters exists. It is exactly the crap Zakalwe was talking about (radio-friendly).

Heart Shaped Box and Rape Me were big hits.

'Bleach' is the only Nirvana album that receives no air play.

Actually, I think I hear more off of this on the radio. Rape Me, All Apologies, and Heart Shaped Box were all I heard for like ever
