Metal dreams isn't even the best chorus on the album tf are you listening to? the most bog standard chord progression and vocal melody like if you asked suno to generate a deftones song

Finally listening to this. Infinite Source was tops until cXz came on -- song is heavy af and reminds me of CMND/CTRL.

You seem to be struggling intensely with the thought of other people enjoying this. I don't know why it bothers you so much.



If it's any consolation, I was feeling the same with Ohms when everyone was and still is praising that record, I just couldn't hear what they were hearing. This album just works for me. The chord progressions are largely simple yes, but they are effective.



You also have Diamond Eyes at 4.5 so obviously your bar for elaborate chord progressions from this band is low and there are other factors that make or break a record.

DE is probably about a 4 for me, but it has a lot more payoff despite being sonically somewhat similar to this

The djent chugging part hit harder, the ethereal choruses are sexier, and its just got more spirit

I don't want to piss on the picnic, you don't need to justify why you enjoy things, I just find it strange that some people are calling this near perfect when to my ears none of it is remarkable in any way nor very interesting, even the 'experimental' bits are nothing new, it's not instrumentally compelling, there aren't many satisfying climaxes or anything

Meanwhile you've got bands who are actually moving the needle with creative music who aren't met with a fraction of the enthusiasm that these guys are
