i don't really blame fans of metal for reacting that way. it's a smaller club and there's so much great stuff out there and this is what they decide is worthy of so much attention

a lot of the flak this band gets scarily mirrors that of what LP used to get - except instead of "imagine dragons metal", LP was considered "gay and for pussies"
there is an honest conversation to be had about the surface-level fusion this band does, but i think i'm so desensitized because i sometimes go out of my way to listen to bottom-of-the-barrel poorly-produced stuff that this feels like a breath of fresh air in comp. like you're bugging if you think i'm gonna place this on the same rating as a BOTDF album
