I can empathize with that there are certainly genres where I feel that way also but I listen to so much metalcore I don’t vibe very hard with run of the mill stuff. If the songwriting is going to be “basic” there better at least be some riffs and to me the new one had neither.

No point in fixing what isn't broken, I would have had these sentiments with Neon maybe but I really didn't care too much for that album, huge step backwards in production while cure was a 2 steps forward

Especially after the vocals were by far Cure's biggest issue, you'd think they would try something new but it seems like Jesse was the only one who got the memo there.

And while some of the new singles’ vox are great (Echo Sonata) I don’t know why Jesse is putting so much filter on his voice. I miss the earlier sound of his voice. I understand sometimes he probably pushes himself beyond his range and might need some help to clean it up, but now he actually has like a weird filter on it regularly it’s lame and sounds manufactured

Its why I don't like Gore of Being. His vocals on the chorus just sound so bad. At least that time it didn't cause me to burst out laughing to the point I nearly fell out of my chair.
