no need to bring prejudice into this just bc scottish people age faster than all the rest of us combined

Yeah this is too wistful and american footballish to be something I pay money for but its a really nice listen, opening run especially.

Relax obnoxious haters this will settle at a 3.7-3.8 I reckon. You’ll be fine.

I hope it stays at 4.1, cause that’s where i guessed it would settle

Bruh no one cares about averages here unless it is Deftones or Chevelle.

Hard to think of a more boring alt rock band lol. Well, okay maybe that’s a bit too harsh, they’re a cut above the usual garbage you hear

Just had to remember how bad some of the more mainstream stuff gets but I don’t think that makes Chevelle good by default. They have a handful of songs I enjoy well enough (mostly Shameful Metaphors) but I tried listening to This Type of Thinking… recently and I nearly died of boredom

Hard to think of a more boring alt rock band? Cmon you KNOW, out of the hundreds of thousands of alt rock bands out there, that’s not true.

When it comes to just plain hard rock/alt metal with a few tweaks throw in every once in a while, chevelle are really good.

An Island has been on my gym playlist for the better part of 9 years. I do find them a bit forgettable outside of their handful of bangers though

I'd probably get on with this better if I found the lyrics more impactful. Really wanted to like this - I'm a sucker for this kind of subject matter - but it's too bland and trite here imo.

There's some really good tunes in here but sadly album is very homogeneous, I think some variations on instruments, like piano, or post-rock elements like TDDB would have helped a lot here
