Yeah, the prod is a little limp and sterile for me (not exactly surprising these days). I also very much disliked a couple of the more immediate melodic moments, but I think it’s perhaps earned another once over to see if anything hits.
These guys do occasionally threaten to engage with some coherent song-writing chops, which is more than I can say for whatever the hell that other trending core release was attempting.

Why Becomes How is on the bottom of my list for this. Good song, but it’s just an alright pxhc song among a billion classics in the same style, released with a bunch of breathing room that makes it feel fresher than it would a decade ago

Really wanted to like this more but it just ain't holding up on multiple listens with all of the weaker moments/songs
Firsthand Accounts is actually quite a bit better

this feels like it should be right up my alley but the constant breakdown chugs get boring so quickly and there isn't a lot else here about from a couple good hooks. some of the early tracks have good energy and the vox shine but for an album that is trying so hard to be ball-smashingly heavy it was pretty forgettable for me.
