That review is almost as good as the album. Read it all the way through.

" I don’t use fancy wordings like someone from fucking Loudwire, or Metalc(s)ucks, or even fucking Metal Injection, and quite frankly, I think my reviews suck,'

I think the fact that my username is based on a song from this band is kind of hilarious since I created my account in 2004 when I thought Avenged was the coolest thing ever. I saw them in Cleveland at the Grog shop and MCR was the opener and it's such a surreal thing to look back on because of how huge both bands are now and how I basically don't give a shit about either of them now. I think this was the first Avenged album I have listened to all the way through since City of Evil. I only became curious about this one because I kept hearing how odd it is and it's kinda growing on me.

It really do be a grower. For as awkward as it sounds at first, every song is deceptively catchy. And the more listens the more you notice the compositional subtleties that keep this from being a total trainwreck. Some great performances here from syn and brooks and Johnny too, but those stuck out pretty well at first listen.

Yea this is pretty ass, but I respect how boldly they decided to be a different flavor of ass this time.

I think the vocals alone keep it from ever getting a 4 from me. Maybe a 3.5.

idk about grower it took me about 2 songs to feel like this was something special and one single whole jam to give it a quick 5

Yeah, Flug, well you're way better than me at identifying good music, so. It makes sense.

“really like this album cover minus the font“

The entire art design of the record is great, very minimal but also feels epic and depressive. Hard to describe because on paper, it’s nothing too fancy.

I have my cover set to the new deathbat redesign, easily my favorite of all of the alternate covers

Absolutely amazed at how much I'm enjoying this. Went in wanting to hate it from the singles, but god damn it. Imagine if we had Nightmare-era Shadows on here

The 70s prog influence is all over this release but really well integrated so that they don't sound like another 70s rip off band.
