Deathrattle demolishes this tbh

Deathrattle was absolute garbo and nearly as embarrassing for the site as Counterpoints

Johnny in a metalcore thread is like the story of Samson tying burning torches to foxtails and sending them through fields

Deathrattle was good but I wasnt as moved by it as the two albums prior. Doesnt help that their vocalist is a quack. This just gets me on that emotional level. Also Counterparts was great tf?

That countparts album was just well executed metalcore, but boring as batshit and the reception it recieved(like this is getting now) made it seem like it was the greatest thing to grace metalcore since Jane Doe. When in fact it was just fine and bulk standard. (Jay dont kill me)
Dont get me wrong for everyone who loved it (and this) you do you and enjoy it, if it strikes a cord with you thats all that matters. Im just adding the counterpoint to why this and the new counterparts is eh for a lot of us.

The atmosphere, the connection with previous works, the lyrical content, the vocal performances, the riffs (which I'm not really that worried about but they go pretty hard), the huge production... what's not to love if you're into this style?
