'So the issue is that Pendulum went over their time at a festival and Sam was mad about it?'

Pretty much, IIRC Pendulum only went over by like a couple of minutes too which could have easily have been made up by Sam not yapping so much during the Architects set, and when questioned about his yapping Sam decided to take shots at the fans lmfao. Fuck him. Set would have legitimately been shit loads better had they just bashed out the songs rapid fire instead of the boring crap we got, I really wish the last time I saw these guys was at vicky warehouse in 19, that was a great gig it's legitimately sad what they've become.

New song is once again awful, these guys need to hang things up, there's no inspiration behind what they do.

Their early albums slap though

Did their post AHEGAO phase influence the genre? I thought they were chasing trends there at best

No they didnt, they where essentially an identity crisis band up till Lf//Lt where they found their sound and that album kind from broke them out and when All our gods came along that was their hit album that launched them furthur and the tragedy of Toms passing probably also ended up being another (unfortunate) signal boost.

The band has a soft spot for me because of Lf//Lt came out and i dived into the band when i was 17/18 and suicidal and angry with my life going tits up. It was also one of the first bands i had found myself as i got into music late. Lf//Lt and Amity's LTOTM and Make them suffers Old souls are soft spots and guilty pleasures for me. Modern Architects do suck the music is shit, lyrics are shit but i eat it up as its my popcorn junk food music

I always felt like Daybreaker and LF//LT sounded so confident, the identity crisis thing was bullshit tbh. Yea, The Here and Now wasn't really great apart from a few songs, but that's as far as I would go in terms of identity crisis.

Also LF//LT isn't a guilty pleasure imo, it's an extremely well written album. But it's also an angry, angsty style I just can't vibe with anymore

i wasn't going to listen to black hole but i was asked to repeatedly and... it's okay. fanservicey chug chug heavy stuff, very standard chorus that they've been repeating for 3 albums now, not really anything new but it's okay, i feel like fans didn't know what they had with TH&N because it's legitimately better than everything they've done post-Holy Hell, and memento mori continues to be 100x better than every song they've released after it

The demos for THAN are soooooo much better. They really dumbed down Sam’s vocals on the final product.

Honestly a redux of THAN and Daybreaker would be amazing, i really wish the band werent allergic to THAN or even acknowledged it or even incorporate it into their modern setlists

I guess I habe to listen to the new album to remind myself why their newer output sucks. I can't remember any songs from FTWWTE or this album

Some of the tracks from FTWWTE actually aged a lot better for me over time. Stuff from this just quite shit and i cant actually remember much of it atm. May relisten to it actually
