“Eventually gave in and said yes because she felt unsafe. It was super questionable and coercive”
That’s rape.

i think it was unclear whether he KNEW that she felt unsafe, and also the true extent of the coercion. Obvi still is gross and not defending Til on this. Just was answering Jay's question since saying he raped two people is reductive at best and not true at worst.

People are really defending Tilian like they've been bff's their whole lives.
Tilian doesn't give a fuck about these people and most people are aware he doesn't care for much of the DGD fanbase either.

If you either did not consent or were pressured into consent, that is rape. Tilian should not be back with the band, let alone so soon.

"Taking advantage of groupies" is a significantly gross way to put it and that would still be rape if they were coerced

yeah seems like a very clear case of rape and its weird how much downplaying is going on

There's a common misconception that rape = total no consent/physically overpowering someone against their will/drugging/etc. So if that doesn't happen, people are more inclined to believe that what happened was consensual. A friend of mine was with someone who threatened to kill themselves unless they had sex, so they did, and afterwards he told us he didn't believe he had been raped. It was a gut-punch to see him try to rationalize it.
That, and as someone else said, this band and its members get treated like a boyband that gets idolized. The Polyphia Strat.

pretty nuts that this is their first album to debut in the bb top 10. kind of makes me sad that for every other record they released, i would be overjoyed for them. now i am just kind of confused as how to feel.

So I have to say their show last night kicked ass. I don't know who was talking shit about Andrew but I thought he killed it live and I'd be 100% cool with him replacing Tilian as their full time vocalist. That was one of the most energetic shows I've been to in a long time. Kurt doing Uneasy Hearts, Carl Barker, and Rock Solid with them was easily the highlight.
With all of that said - HOLY SHIT Royal Coda was ridiculously good. I've never heard Kurt nail the vocals live like that and he was hitting notes I didn't know he could manage. The three new songs they played are a clear tier above their previous releases so I'm pretty hyped for the new album. I copped the vinyl cause that shit is gorgeous.
TLDR: Andrew great, Kurt great, Royal Coda great, nobody misses Tilian
