If she is a fire is any indication, and not a Richard Shaw leftover, we have nothing to worry about.

"Ed Sheeran likes this, he actually could make death metal someday, not kidding"
Frost predicted the Cradle/Sheeran collab on page 15!!! It's going to drop this summer and profits will go to a good cause.
Also had to finally bump that rating, this is as good as Hammer/Crypto after all.

Also also Discourse is super good. It's not mentioned enough here.

i've accepted that this is one of my least favorite cradle records, which honestly makes me more curious where they'll go from here

Interesting! How do Hammer and Crypto rank in the grand scheme of things?
And I'm very curious for the new one too, it apparently is almost finished, if their Facebook is to be believed.

Do you know what about this one rubs you the wrong way? It's obviously different from the two that came before in certain aspects, but I wouldn't say they're worlds apart either.

my favorite things about cradle are dani's lyrics and all the melodramatic contrast in most of their music, and i feel those both reach near career lows on this one for whatever reason. it seems like it's quite a focused 'metal' record by their standards if anything

It's really riff-oriented, I can see that yeah. Maybe that's what's keeping it back for you.
Loving it more and more over the last couple of weeks personally!

I think Cryptoriana is probably the high point of this trilogy, even if I lack the capability of explaining why. Especially when Hammer has three of my favorite tracks they've ever done.
That said, I do think this is on the level of Hammer at least. It usually takes a while for me to put their albums in perspective.

She Is A Fire is just so fucking good. Im not sure if it touches my heart emotionally like the other top Cradle but it is right beside the top just because of the guitar noodling.

Same! Could do with more Cradle. Number 14 (!!!) is going to be a blast, we just know it will!

i think the writing on this one feels a bit less tight than cryptoriana. lots of good moments but some tracks kinda lose steam or don't progress coherently. still good but i think it's not as good as that and hammer
