They apparently released a single in March that completely went under my radar. Short and sweet. To me it harkened back to Good News and We Were Dead-era Modest Mouse. Worth checking out since it's less than 2 minutes lol

The new one is pretty…decent. Has the sound of older school MM…but lacks a certain something at the same time. I dunno, I’m having a hard time pinpointing what it lacks…closest I can get is that it sounds like old MM, but derivative.

It has (just) a few good tunes like Wooden Soldiers and Lace Your Shoes. Excited for this in any case.

Plus I'm pretty sure the bulk of these songs were recorded during Strangers to Ourselves so I just assumed this album was just all the b-sides and scraps that didn't make that tracklist.

Fuck your acid trip is awesome, also really like Wooden Soldiers, Japanese Trees and Back to the Middle.

The third single, "Third Side of the Moon", got released. I swear the riff is a callback to 3rd Planet even if it isn't a 1:1 match. It does feel like there is an active intent to recall their previous albums with each song they've released. Brock's lyricism and line delivery on this one is hit-or-miss. I also realized how much I miss Jeremiah Green. His drumming is sorely missed these days.
