I don't even think I would go as far as to say the production is "good", but that might just because I listened to it directly after the new Carly album which has insane production. Otherwise I agree with everything you said, Feather.

If I'm honest I'm enjoying Midnights but not in love with it... I've missed 1989/Reputation era Taylor and this scratches that itch, even though the songwriting feels closer to her past 3 albums. It gives a more intimate vibe for me.

Nah Midnights doesn't touch the 1989/Reputation era, it's basically just a pop version of this indie-folk nonsense she's been doing lately.

Nothing on this site! I can't remember but it's another big music site and they released a big article about Taylor Swift and her Metacritic scores and how easy it is to tank or raise them, and I fully believe that's going to make her fans more intense than usual

Had my second playthrough of Midnights and yeah it's... Eh. It all kinda blends into one. It's polished up brilliantly, it's just void of anything remotely exciting. Midnight Rain is pretty cool, I love the production on that, and Sweet Nothing is nice. But it's just a weak ass album overall.
