‘14 years have passed since the release of Psalms and it’s still the standard for brutality. Fucking filthy’

Probably why it’s my least fave so far, although it took me a while to appreciate this band at all, so maybe one day that’ll change. I love how this sounds crazy intricate despite the heaviness. Everything is so clear yet still filthy.

nothing there are still a few people out there who think that liking overtly technical music is more of a cliche than insulting people who listen to overtly technical music

honestly the only issue is when the technicality overshadows actually writing engaging music. nothing worse than pointless neoclassical noodling that goes nowhere and doesnt riff.

there are plenty of super technical bands out there that still know how to riff and groove and those are the good ones.

With the amount of vague, non-specific criticisms I see in tech-death threads you'd think every band was Brain Drill circa 2007. Some peeps just can't tell the good from the bad lol

Wait, you’re telling me those are different bands? Lmao. Thought it was just one dude and a bunch of side projects with the odd guest musician.

Despite all the preconceptions on genre etc, I think Relentless Mutation goes super hard and flows incredibly well. They also sound different from all the others aforementioned, at least on that album.
