Maybe people have different interpretations of 'all over the place' but I found it to be streamlined and cohesive listen even with the quick changing tempos in some of the songs. Flows better than POST imo.

"All over the place" here for me means it revives several tunes from the biggest poppunk acts from the 90s but with a fresh attitude..now to call this samey/ unmemorable I can t agree less tbh (and specially not if you come from spanish love songs). Its exactly the opposite lol now it is fun and light listen fs...

I really don't get the adoration for that Spanish Love Songs album either. It's boring and the vocals sound like every gruff/overly serious singer to ever get behind the mic since the dawn of the new wave of emo.

Schmaltz has a lot of character in its lyrics. Agreed that the vocals and instrumentals don't come up with much that's innovative, but to me, Rosenstock pales in comparison because he's never written an emotionally compelling song like Otis / Carl or It's Not Interesting.

butt.

I don't know how specific your genre classifications are pal but there are obvious similarites between this and Pup and Spanish Love Songs. Definitely all in the same ball park.

There are definitely similarities between Rosenstock and Pup, but this is a bit less poppy and more rough around the edges

Don’t understand the comparison except for the fact that they’re buddies. They don’t sound all that similar to me tbh

Had to bump my rating back down after relistening to BTMI’s discog. Still love this though, and I still think it’s his best solo album
