On Afterburner the peaks are higher and this is more consistent.

The only thing ArSe really has over this is Shelf Life

The each have exactly the same issues here.. couple memorable tracks, most of the content not worth revisiting at all.. Resulting in average, or barely above albums.. but then again thats the case for at least half their albums.

Its grown especially stale lately, maybe due to a consistent lineup for a few albums, or just steadily producing as much content as they do.. Some time off may be good for them next go round, in terms of quality.

Well, the album doesn't deserve less than a 2.5 for sure. It's decently produced, (leagues ahead of Acceptance Speech 1) Tilian doesn't have coronavirus on this one in comparison to Artificial Selection, (he recorded it with the flu, that's why his voice sounded so airy and odd there) the instrumentals are sick and someone will definitely dig this album a lot.

Objectively it's still a 2.5-3 for me and anything under a 3.5 is not worth revisiting.

28gloom Tilian only recorded a couple songs on ArSe while he was sick.

Why you record anything while you're sick is beyond me.

Time constraints and dealing with real life.

I guess I can get that. If they are the actual reason.

Maybe DELAY THE ALBUM INSTEAD OF RECORDING WITH THE CORONA?

I mean, producing takes way fucking longer than recording 9/10 times so...

Regardless I don't think he not being sick (even though he said it was a stylistic choice) would've made those songs any better.

It was a stylistic choice to record while sick.

^ This is the first time I've heard this and never noticed. I don't think it turned out to be a bad choice to go ahead and record. But if you have a negative preconception of Tillian and just want to rag on him go for it.

It's a weird ass stylistic choice but I guess there's been weirder choices out there.

It is. It reminds me of Kieth Buckley circa FPU. He thought his voice was shot up until recording day and recorded the whole damn thing in one day if I'm not mistaken.
