'which is to say it’s a mix of shoegaze/dream pop and post-metal/post-rock, which one could indeed probably simplify as something like “post-shoegaze."' (2)

I have now declared this appropriate genre terminology, cheers Bone

It's what I meant, but was unfortunately afflicted with laziness and thus unable to explain myself properly

Yeah boney now that you mention it the first two tracks of Voyages comes to mind 😁 which are the best ones. Clearly an influence.

It seems like an odd (unbalanced?) choice but it works well on this record. I remember listening in an interview it was very intentional of the band to create that flow. This album is so GD good, every time I see it pop back up on the front page I want to listen to it again.

Same Dungeon. That’s a good way of describing it actually. Heavy, then exhausted. The climax of Sleep Tongue gives so much sorrow and longing. So cathartic though.

I love Sleep Tongue, it's a contender for my favorite track on the album, but also tied with like 5 others on here

Gotta love the love for Seer. That track is so massive at the 2nd half to the end

I think I like the first half more, not sure but take me with you is my favorite track on here for sure. That crescendo is just God damn incredible.

I really hope they don't drop the drawn out instrumental sections on the new album like they did on that EP

lol well I actually just moved to a city this month where they are coming on their 14 date tour with.. Astronoid. Should be interesting to check out the Noid, even though I heard they sound horrible live

Lol Astronoid that’s fitting. I can picture them being too loud with their walls of sound

All these short songs got me worried. New song is good but I've heard nothing to suggest new album will even come close to this =/

Well shorter songs are a no brainer for singles

If the singles are indicative of the album as a whole I think I'll be satisfied tbh, nothing so amazingly special about this band's ability to stretch songs past six minutes that focusing on more succinct stuff can't pay solid dividends
