ik im late but while ya its a bit of a baseless scenario, it has to do with what people expect from certain bands, and Green Day is one of those bands a site like this could easily manhandle if they make a mis-step because they're basically the mainstream. they're not an esoteric niche that everyone overhypes, they're not Radiohead. so it's more likely for a misstep to be shat on mercilessly. I can understand disliking the record, yeah at times it is kinda bad, but tbh it's hard to believe it's even worse than the trilogy let alone the worst album of all time when so much legit garbage exists lol. like, Hole's debut album is more worthy of that and that got a 3.3 here somehow.

you're absolutely right about that. I think the Trilogy was a way worse mess, and even more disappointing because you can take select tracks from there to create a solid single-album but they kept the garbage filler anyway. it was also a lot more exhausting to get through, this at least is short.

@David: there's an album before Live Through This, it's called Pretty on the Inside and it sucks. "Teenage Whore" is like the only passable track and it's still a 2/5.
