It’s not like zakalwe has actually heard the album, lol. He does this in every JEW thread, a bit of a trademark

I’ve listened and I’ve nearly strung myself up it’s so shit. Baseless, corporate rubbish the likes of which only the spaffed out spawn of some born and bred brat in Martha’s Vineyard could possibly relate to.

You know I realized something. Most, if not all of the emo and pop/punk bands that came out of the early 2000s have all either become a parady of themselves as they try to recapture the glory days or else turned into a fully fledged pop outfit. And here Jimmy comes to shake up the scene, giving us one of the most exciting rock albums in the past few years. This record could seriously give the genre a new energetic spike. If this could inspire more artists to bring out the guitars again and less artists to create something like FOB's Mania then that would be amazing.

I like your thinking but the FOB approach makes more money and fans than what JEW is doing unfortunately.

honestly tons of bands in the like 2000s pop punk and emo scenes have recently churned out some of their best material theyre just not bands that would ever consider pulling a fob because they werent that extreme level of success in the first place, and i dont think itd have been a smart jimmy career move either even tho theyre a bit bigger than most of their contemporaries they were never like fall out boy successful nor do i think they wanna be

im not sure if i'd agree in calling this one of the most exciting rock albums of the past few years.

Entirely fair. For me, I haven't been this excited for a rock album in the pop/rock vein in years, favourite band bias aside (or not lol). There are better, heavier rock albums, definitely. But for something that isn't explicitly pop/punk, this is waaaaay up there imo.

Would've been a hard 5 if it had finished the job.
