the entire reason god came down to earth in the flesh and sacrificed himself was to symbolically carry the burden of man's sins so they wouldn't succumb to them and commit more as part of a self-fulfilling prophecy or feel like absolute shit the rest of their days over a past they can't change. to know forgiveness is to be able to carry on and do better - to be pigeonholed as a terrible person the rest of your life over a dire mistake, especially after you've already paid the price, is just going to entice you to commit more mistakes.

literally NOBODY is defending tim's actions, but if he's recognized that wifekilling is bad and is consciously trying to do better, there's no sense in dragging him back through the muck - same goes for anyone, he isn't getting special treatment because he's part of a christian band. people who continuously try to milk drama out of a person's past when it isn't their present are most likely not christian, so i've no idea what kind of narrative you're trying to construct here or what point you think you've made.
