The melodies in "Cardigan" are some of the best she has ever written.

"Who gives a shit about this?"

seems like basically everyone does lol. the Venn diagram of Swifties/Bon Iver obsessives/people wanting to be in on the conversation encompasses, uh, most of the internet

Hahaha, so do I, my friend. But one listen of "Exile" and they may be eating their words.

This is everything I was hoping Punisher would be.

I was so worried that after this her music was going to be a steady decline into mediocrity. So happy that wasn't true. So happy.

One listen through and sounds like The National? What the fuck are you talking about, other than there’s keys audible in the mix?

The Dessner production is super evident, like on Cardigan the way the song melts away in the outro, could honestly be on Sleep Well Beast tbh.

Yup, it is rather evident that this was produced by Aaron Dressner imo.

Tbh porcupine I think it sounds a lot like The National but I love your 2.0 rating lol

Like, superficially sure if you ignore anything that makes The National The National. There’s atmospheric keys in a minor key with Aaron Dessner’s name attached as a producer credit. Hot damn.

Probably still better than a 2 tho, sure there’s a bump coming when I’m more sober and less salty

Not gonna get ahead o’ myself. Still dig Speak Now and 1989, and certainly not this new one.

Also “this is everything I was hoping Punisher would be”
Like Exile isn’t just anemic Garden Song
