Damn. I'm glad I caught them live before but I'll also never get Blood on the Radio nor Absentee with Sal.
I can't really imagine the band without Sal's vocals either.

Hope one day these guys will return. I know they haven't formally "split up" but they've been inactive for quite some time, and made no announcements on replacing Sal. Might jam this today!

Any idea when new music might be popping up for these guys? Plague Accommodations didn't really scratch the itch for me but I was jamming this last week and remembered how great each tune was on here.

Oh I am reading up above and didn't realize their vocalist left? What happened there? I know they got a new drummer after their previous one took off too

Wouldn't be surprised if these guys were pretty much donezos, which I say hoping to be proven wrong lol. wishing them all the very best either way.

Yeah, it's hard not to think of Terraformer as their "big jump" that didn't really develop into anything. No big contracts, no headliners, nothing. It's hard to operate as such a large ensemble and make any money or enough money to sustain the group for another album/tour cycle. Then when your vocalist, who has a very distinct sound, leaves the group then your only options are to try and develop a vocalist from within or hire out. Not ideal for a band this niche.

Anyone listen to the drummers new project? It is hilariously awful in the best possible way

Yeah man I as thinking when this came out that this band would just take off into the prog stratosphere but was surprised when it all fizzled out.

They're a hard band to sell. Felt the same way about Mandroid Echostar back in the day. Interesting sound but not a band that could capitalize on their approach in the way other bands did. You gotta have a sound that can play well with general audiences. It's why C&C took off. Dissimilar in many ways, but the sentiment I think is the same.

im always gonna prefer Sal but I 1000% hear why they chose this guy. this shit's WILD

Yeah Sal's voice was super distinct, but I'm checking out some Karmic Juggernaut rn and Damion's voice has the exact sort of theatricality that Thank You Scientist's songs demand. I'd love to hear his take on The Somnambulist

As much as I loved Sal, his vocals were definitely an acquired taste. From what I've heard of the new guy he has more of a distinct classic prog twang and I think he'd fit right in with the TYS guys. I'm pumped!

Excited for new material, definitely.

I'll have to check out the new guy's old band and see what I think. I definitely think that this band can still retain their uniqueness even with a different vocalist. The instrumentation is what makes them stand out so much. Sal was just extra spice.
