I Don't know if nuanced is the word I'd use, not in the classical sense, I just find the enthusiasm of it... charming? It feels like an album a nerd like me would make if I had the talent

I wish I liked it more. most of these songs fall so flat for me

can't relate at all with people who prefer this over flower boy

I like this, but I prefer Flower Boy's warmer sound.

I just find the singing to be bad. Seemed to show up in smaller doses on flower boy, but here it's constant. The dude sings the same melody in like 5 songs, how does nobody else seem to notice this

I don't think anybody is listening to this to hear an amazing voice, I don't mind the singing when the production is stellar

Now if Tyler did an album like Susanne Sundfor's Music For People In Trouble then...

If I had to plump for one artist people will cringe a bit for liking in five or six years time I'd say Tyler

That is the most 'ten used CD copies in the bargain bin' album and album cover of the year - the digital age will prob save him that indignity, but rewind 15 years and that's the sleeve that would have that £4.00 sticker slapped on it as the skinny dude in the oversized t-shirt hands you your £1 or £2 trade voucher

Why would I cringe for liking this exactly?

Outdated opinion I already hit on the cringe factor of his earlier music back when flower boy came out...not sure how anything off that album is cringey let alone this one esp compared to shit like Tron Cat

It’s a bit of a Gorillaz ‘Plastic Beach’ - made sense for five minutes, it’d be painful to listen to ten years later

Is my take. It’s 2019’s fluffy album - it’s not one for the ages

I mean I haven’t even thought about listening to that album in two years so yeah

This is a 3.0 - I’m pretty sure Plastic Beach and Big Fish I rated identically.

This has less substance and lasting power than Tyler’s previous I’m thinking
