@tec so I used to hate DMDS because of the vocals but gave it another spin just a few weeks ago and it's definitely not bad. I still think some of the vocals are retarded, like straight up autistic, particularly in the first couple songs. but beyond that it's a pretty solid album

I think the vocals are really unique, obviously unorthodox, but totally understand why someone would contest. The music is insane, though.
Not death or true black metal, but butt you need to give Vukari's Aevum a try. Still my frontrunner metal AOTY so far. (Though I'm digging the new Mortiferum more each time I listen to it.)
