"stop talking about redeeming himself and all the good he could have done. have you read the details of what he did? he could become a saint and donate all of the money he vet makes to charity, live like a monk, and pay for the surgery to restore his ex-gf’s vision in one of her eyes. that still wouldn’t redeem him or make him a good person. nothing could. he literally tortured his pregnant girlfriend."

The man is dead. Let people mourn for at least a little.

no

whether he could've redeemed himself is irrelevant because the reality is that he didn't and no amount of hypothesizing is going to change that. he lived as a shitty person, he died as a shitty person, and he should be remembered as a shitty person. the atrocious acts he committed should be the first thing on everybody's mind when they think of him and they should follow his name forever.

stop trying to act all high and mighty and show a shred of empathy for the people he victimized.

look i’m not saying you can’t mourn the loss of this guy, that’s your own prerogative. i’m just saying let’s stop with this “he could have redeemed himself, he was becoming a good person” bs.

I think what's causing this issue here is the fact that people are conflating the mourning of his death as a way to sweep his previous wrongdoings under the rug. while many many XXX stans have been doing this I haven't seen too many blatant cases here so I wouldn't be accusing people of such.

I agree we should NOT let his abuse charges out of the limelight but I would also encourage people who are passionate about not-memorializing XXX to consider the fact that some people will miss him as an artist despite everything he's done.

the redemption argument is very very personal and has many religious ties so, again, I'd keep those opinions to yourself. but saying he could've redeemed himself I think at this point is irrelevant, yes.

The weirdest part to me is people who are entirely anti gun and anti death penalty are hype as fuck on this and that seems so backwards and contradictory

Being a metalhead is fine but it shows that they never gave a shit about this artist's music so they are on her just talking shit after he died

It is highly personal tbh. I'm not

stop trying to act all high and mighty and show a shred of empathy for the people he victimized.

The way this is worded sounds like that I don't have any empathy at all to XXX's victim whatsoever which is wrong and highly presumptive. What I'm saying might be irrelevant to you and some people, but I never try to force my views. I'm expressing my opinion, a shred of a positivity by hypothesizing a potential to be good even at the shittiest part of human psyche.

I'm not gonna tell you to do anything, but thanks for your input.

Damn, this thread is still going. The only thing that's actually sad here is that people are probably gonna remember and care about XXX's death more than Lil Peep's.

You see, you're saying all of this but you gave the album a 4 which immediately makes it hard to take you seriously.
