"Realistically you don’t think Daryl straight up borrowed some chino style vocal melodies on this?"
Yes, this is quite glaring. I don't think Glassjaw cribbed from Deftones sonically but when it comes to the singing many of the vocal patterns are suspiciously like Chino's.

"So how’s the new Quicksand"

I think it's pretty good.

If bastille day and the self titled track weren't such boring interludes then I would've given this album a 5.

This album is great, somehow their heaviest yet most subtle work to date. Kind of goes by in a blur the first time but all the tracks become more distinct to me with more attentive listens

Rowan: the reason why that's bs is glassjaw were always doing post-hardcore... The fact that they've been around longer has nothing to do with them sounding like Deftones in their latter-day material. I'm honestly shocked that people don't hear the similarities in their music (not vocals)

yeah that's what I'm saying? Deftones sound like Glassjaw, not the other way around, because Glassjaw were always p/hc whereas Deftones took until 2000 to really embrace it

That is true Gyro but this album just needed more longer songs... That's my only con with this album. I waited 15 years and it's pretty short with 2 interlude tracks -_-

Great record but cmon rating it 4.5 or more is overkill. People bagged Russian circles afrika for being too one dimensional and this record is the same. Shira is so bloody catchy tho definitely the standout track
